A sneak preview of the new 2024 Ford Mustang

The exciting Ford Mustang story continues into 2024 with enhanced exterior styling, an all-new interior, revised chassis hardware and two upgraded powertrains. You'll have your choice of a turbocharged EcoBoost engine or a mighty V8 that can generate a carload of horsepower. The 2024 Mustang will still be available in either a hardtop coupe or soft-top convertible body style. Performance

The latest edition of the Ford Mustang will come standard with an upgraded 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that's good for 315 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque. EcoBoost Mustang models come with a 10-speed automatic transmission while the Mustang GT will continue to offer a 5.0-liter V8. The bigger unit will give buyers from Salem and Lebanon OR an impressive 480 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque. The all-new Mustang Dark Horse is a track-ready model that will run with a big V8 engine that generates a massive 500 horsepower.

Technology and safety features

The new Mustang now offers an available 13.2-inch touch screen with Ford's Sync 4 software that spreads out across the dashboard behind a distinctive curved glass panel. The new Mustang has standard smartphone connectivity for both Apple and Android and cutomers from Silverton and Stayton OR can get an available wireless smartphone charger. Adaptive cruise control comes standard and so does a lane departure warning system and lane-keeping assist.

 

The interior

The interior of the new Ford Mustang comes was inspired by the design of a fighter jet. The standard 12.4-inch instrument cluster is a big step forward from the previous model. There's a configurable display you can customize with selectable colors, gauges and even a simplified screen that shows you only the most essential details. At the Premium level, Ford adds stitched bits and pieces from the door trim to the dashboard and the Mustang GT trim comes with leather inserts.

The exterior

The aerodynamic new Ford Mustang for 2024 features all-new streamlined body panels along with vent configurations that give you special lift and drag benefits. You also get a road-gripping downforce and the lowest drag coefficient ever available in a production Mustang. The new 2024 Mustang comes with a contemporary, heritage inspired design that sustains authentic Mustang features like a sprinting stance and sleek contours.

What's new for 2024 Ford Mustang?

Both the Mustang GT and the EcoBoost models will offer an available Performance Pack equipment upgrade. If you add the Performance Pack, you'll get wider wheels and tires, a Torsen limited slip differential, larger Brembo brakes and active dampening suspension. Other performance-focused options include available Recaro bucket seats and an active exhaust. The all-new Mustang Dark Horse is ready for the track with a muscular V8 engine.

How much horsepower can you get on the 2024 Ford Mustang?

With the 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine, you'll get 315 horsepower. Go with the Mustang GT's Coyote V8 and you'll move up to 480 horsepower. Still not quite enough? The new Mustang Dark Horse comes with a 5.0-liter V8 that generates 500 horsepower.

How safe is the new Ford Mustang?
